Booking a limousine is a great way to get yourself and your guests to a party or an event. You don't have to worry about drinking and driving or about navigating the road. If this is your first time booking a limousine, however, you may not be that familiar with the process. Here are some tips to keep in mind.
Ask about the different types of limousines the company has.
You probably think of a limo as a long car with space for 8 or 10 people. But limos come in different sizes and shapes. There are smaller limos with room for just 6 or 8 passengers, plus longer limos with space for 12 or more. Many limo companies also have SUVs and small buses, too. If you tell the limo company how many people you're bringing along, they can tell you what kinds of vehicles they have to fit that number of passengers.
Determine what services are included in the fees.
Different limo companies have different fee structures. Some charge one flat fee which includes everything but the tip for the driver. Others have more complex fee structures and may charge you separately for gas or mileage. Before you book, make sure you establish exactly what you are paying, and what is included in that payment. If you will owe more on the day of the rental, you'll want time to plan ahead.
Remember to tip the driver.
It is typical to tip your limo driver. A good way to approach this is to ask each person in your limo to contribute a few dollars for the tip. Let your passengers know about this plan prior to the event so they can plan ahead and bring cash.
Ask about the limo features beforehand.
A lot of modern limousines have special features and amenities. For instance, you might be able to hook up your smartphone and play your own music in the limo. Or, you might be able to pay an extra fee and have the limo stocked with champagne and other drinks. Ask what features the limo company offers when you book so you can plan and make the most of those features.
